James Shoots Out The Lights !

Game 2 of the weekends double-header for St.Vincents was against local rivals DART Killester. Coached by Mark Keenan an ex St.Vincents captain and no stranger to the Glasnevin Gym. With the Home team now without the services of Centre Mike Trimmer (Achilles inj), it was the 3 Donnelly brothers together with Turner and Gamble facing the run-away leaders of the northern conference. Sealey, Grennell, Westbrooks, Burch and Walls for Killester.
Turner and Walls in the centre circle for the Tip-off both team playing pressure "D" giving the visitors an early lead and a series of missed efforts from the Glasnevin Squad. Time out by Joey and "instructions were given " !!!! They're sent back out on court and quickly establish a grip on the game, to lead at the Qtr's end 24-17.

An early injury forces Turner to sit out most of the Qtr as Burch and Sealey turn up the heat, out scoring the home side 23pts to 13pts. Killester leading the half 40 - 37 giving Joey something to think about in the dressing room.
Normal service resumes at Kenny Gamble is reunited with Turner and the 3 Donnelly's, team tactics and a change in defence now turns the tables on Killester with Burch reduced to a 2pt Qtr and only Walls with his extra long reach making any headway against St.Vincents. Turner now with a 2 / 3 man defence on him inside freeing up James Donnelly as he hits back-to-back 3's and a lay-up to stun the visitors and turn over the scores and give the home side a 7pt lead going into the final Qtr 62 - 55.
St.Vincents and Killester traded baskets for the first 3-4 minutes before James, Emmet, Joey Mc, Jermaine and James again all nailed 3 pointers to close out what little fire was left in the Killester team, running out with rookie players and the game score flattered only by two late unopposed 3's from Quigly. Finishing 93 - 77 to St Vincents.
James Donnelly season high on 26pts including 6 x 3's.Gamble on 24pts and "rookie" Conor Gordon netting his first Nivea for Men Superleague points.
Burch on 22pts, Walls 26pts and Sealey on 13pts for the Dart Killester side.
